    Hope Mihalap Virginia
Photo of Hope Mihalap Hope Mihalap, an award-winning humorist with a sharp ear for good communication, is a Greek from the South married to a Russian, with children living all over the world. She is an honor graduate of Vassar College, former executive secretary to the head of the Metropolitan Opera, a columnist, author and public radio commentator. Her witty book, Where There's Hope, has been critically praised and excerpted in national magazines.

She has received the prestigious Mark Twain Award for Humor, presented also to such artists as Bob Hope, Danny Kaye, Phyllis Diller and Erma Bombeck. And she holds the Speaker Hall of Fame Award from the National Speakers Association - the Oscar of her profession.

Hope feels that in a world beset by technology and serious motivational goals, people tend to overlook the valuable, common-sense skills they already possess - empathy, humor and the ability to pay attention. In keynote addresses given all over the world, she uses her ear for accents and details to give highly original and hilarious presentations that help us recognize our own sources of humor and relationship skills.
